All About Anne Cole Swimwear

The Anne Cole Swimwear studio, founded in 1978, is based at Mongoose Junction, on St. John, in the US Virgin Islands. Surrounded by sun, sea and sand, it's no wonder such beautiful swimsuits are produced there!

Anne launched her first collection in 1982. After years of successful collections, she launched her online store in 1998.

The Maillot Swimsuit

Anne Cole's signature piece is the Maillot Swimsuit, a style that has proved popular with customers year after year. Available in a wide selection of colors, the Maillot is a classic one piece which is available all year round, inspiring some clients buying a new suit each year.

The Three Seasonal Collections

Although Anne Cole's classic Maillot swimsuit is available all year long, the designer also brings out three new collections each year.

The Cruise Collection

This is the largest collection produced by the studio, and is debuted on September 1 each year, and is available for purchase beginning November 15. While some styles are available right up to the end of Cruise Collection season in May, others sell out quickly, so if you'd like to buy a swimsuit from Cruise, it's a good idea to shop early!

The Summer Collection

With summer being the season most of us go looking for new swimsuits and bikinis, you would expect this to be the largest collection Anne Cole produces. Actually, it's the smallest, and is available from April 1st until June, by which time it's normally sold out.

Early Cruise

Another Cruise Collection, this one is available from July 1st until early September.

The Clothing Studio

All of the current collections are available for purchase from the The Clothing Studio, although customers who are able to visit the actual studio for themselves may just get lucky and find a past-season swimsuit, or difficult to find color.

A Look at the Current Collection

So, now you know what the collections are called and when each one is released, what do the swimsuits actually look like?

Elegant is the word that springs most readily to mind when it comes to Anne Cole Swimwear. These are sophisticated styles which can also be sexy and fun, depending on the piece. The collection revolves heavily around one pieces, although you'll also find the odd tankini in there too.

Most importantly, these styles are cut to flatter the female figure. Some suits are revealing, like the plunging halter top swimsuit with hardware that is part of the current collection, while other suits are more demure or downright fun.

Suddenly Slim by Anne Cole

As the name suggests, Anne Cole's "Suddenly Slim" collection is a range of swimwear designed to flatter the wearer's figure, using tummy control panels and side-support under-wire construction to pull you in and push you up in all the right places.

These swimsuits are very much like the lingerie you can buy to fulfill the same purpose, the only difference being that the swimsuits are designed to be on show, so no one will guess you're wearing clothes with side and tummy panels! The cut of each suit is, in itself, designed to elongate and slim the silhouette. We all know how flattering a well-cut item of clothing can be, and the slimming designs of the Anne Cole Swimwear collection are the main reason the designer has so many female fans who will wear nothing else.

Where to Buy

In addition to the Clothing Studio website, you can buy the swimsuits at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and other upscale department stores. You'll also find them at:

Hi Adele,

I feel for your dilemma, but Anne Cole doesn't have a website themselves, so you may have to go through Marshall's and resolve the problem with them. I wish there was more we could do; good luck with this matter.

can you give me the customer service e-mail, as I am having a big problem with an Anne Cole suit that I purchased at Marshall's?

Hi Micheline,

I appreciate you sharing your experience with this brand of swimwear, but you'll need to contact the Anne Cole company directly or the store you bought it from about the durability of your suit. Glad you enjoyed our article.
