Clearance Swimwear
From LoveToKnow Swimsuits
The best time to look for clearance swimwear is during the back-to-school sales after Labor Day. This is because clothing manufacturers usually release their new swim collections twice a year; in the winter for the cruise and resort collections and in the spring for the summer season.
When to Look for Clearance Deals
In the fall, retailers, distributors and manufacturers need to clear out inventory and write off merchandise in order to prepare for the Christmas fashion collections. Clearance swimwear is usually rather easy to find when you are shopping for back to school items. Often, discounts run as deep as seventy percent off the original retail price.
If you are willing to take a chance and wait for further discounts, you can look for sales when the new collections are released. Sometimes a retailer will display a rack of the prior season's items next to the new collection. However, these bargains are rare and fewer retailers follow this practice today.
Of course, you can always find clearance swimwear on the Internet. A Google search of the term "clearance swimwear" returns nine million results. Bathing suits are on sale year round in cyber space.
Make that Discount Count
The discounts on the web can be very steep, even when you factor in shipping costs. However, most retailers won't allow you to return swimwear, so you take a risk whether your items will fit. If you know exactly what you want, or just want to replace a favorite swimsuit, the Internet can be your best option for a deep discount. Internet sales are also great ways to get great deals on bathing suits for kids, cover ups, flip flops, wet suits and goggles.
Speaking of fit, buying a well-fitting suit is critical when shopping for a bathing suit, so be careful when shopping for clearance swimwear. The most deeply discounted bathing suit is no bargain if you can't wear it. Bathing suits can be tricky to fit.
Often times, you won't wear your dress size in a swimsuit. If you are tall, you may wear a size or two larger. If you have a small chest, you might wear a smaller size. Proper fit is important, not only to flatter your natural shape, but also to provide full coverage when swimming or playing on the beach or pool side.
Tips for Buying Clearance Swimwear
Follow these tips to get a great deal on a bathing suit:
- Buy the size you are today, not the size you want to be next summer. It is tempting, especially when you are paying below retail, to buy an item in the size you want to be; not the size you actually are. However, this strategy almost never pays off. You end up with a drawer full of items that cost little, but you can’t wear them. It is better to buy the bathing suit that fits now. Who knows? You may be invited on a cruise or a tropical vacation during the winter, and the new suit will be put to use immediately.
- Don't expect to find the bathing suit you saw advertised at the beginning of the season. New looks, especially in popular sizes, sell out quickly each season. If you see a swimsuit that you just can't live without, buy it right away. Save the sales for items you didn’t even know you wanted.
- Don't worry about trends. A well-fitting bathing suit that flatters your figure is much more stylish than one in the hottest color that accents your worst features. Don’t worry if you buy an all black suit the year that hot pink is in style. Fit is the most important factor in looking good on the beach..

Hi Angie,
First, it's really fantastic that your company sells products for women who have had a mastectomy, but unfortunately, we, LTK, don't actually sell anything. Why don't you search through our site, gather some of the store's mentioned and contact them? They may be able to help. Thank you for the post and good luck!

We are trying to sell excess inventory and lovetoknow sounds like a great place to do that. I would like to get some information if that is possible.
