Homemade Bikini Contest

A homemade bikini contest offers a way to flaunt what you have; your body and your sewing and designing skills. There are several bikini contests of this sort out there. Choose your favorite fabric, run an extra mile and get ready to enter.

There are homemade bikini contests all over the country; sometimes at surprising times of year! For example, Hog's Breath, a Key West, Florida saloon, has theirs in October. So if you're planning your vacation for later in the year, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on all the spring break or summer fun. Other locations, such as Tailgaters Grille & Drafthouse in York, Pennsylvania, stay true to bikini season, often hosting theirs in June.

Be as creative as with your bikini as possible. Unless the rules to the specific contest you plan to enter say so, you don't have to use traditional fabrics (or any fabric at all in some cases). You also don't have to be able to swim in your creation!

Others have gone a more conventional route with fabric in the form of a cute flirty top and skirt combination. In addition to the contest, they have drink specials at this one.

• Tailgaters Grille & Drafthouse in York, Pennsylvania has a yearly homemade bikini contest, too. Check their site for pictures of past winners.
• Bier Stube of Toledo, Ohio is newer to the bikini contest game. Their first one took place on September 13, 2008. They keep the winning bikini and put it on display along with a picture of the winner wearing her homemade bikini.

A homemade bikini contest really does allow you to flaunt everything you've got; your body, your brains and your skills. In preparation for the next contest in your area, do a few more reps, shop the craft stores and let your mind go wild.
