An invisible bikini is one that you can barely see. Technically, you may have clothes on, but these see-through bikinis will put your physical assets on display for the world to see! You can find several different styles of bikinis that offer an "invisible" look.

Disappears When Wet

A bikini made of sheer swimsuit materials, like Lycra or mesh, often becomes invisible when it is wet. This kind of invisible swimsuit can be purchased in patterned or plain colors, but be assured that the design is not what people will be looking at once you take a dip!

Even though the effect is most evident when wet, the bikini will be somewhat transparent to people standing close to you. The tiny holes in the swimsuit can allow people to see right through it. Although you might look covered in the mirror at home and have no plans to get wet, you should skip this bikini if you are heading to a public beach, pool or swim party.

Peekaboo

Some extreme bikinis have no need for a sheer fabric that becomes invisible. Instead, fabric is skipped all together and the shape of a bikini is formed through strategically placed strings. From afar, people may simply think you are nude because only a tiny amount fabric will be visible.

Absolutely nothing is left to the imagination; your genitals and breasts will be exposed in the most risqué versions of this kind of peekaboo bikini. The fact there is any fabric at all on your body will be overlooked; this bikini is for wearing at private/nude beaches and hot tubs only!

C-String

One of the newest developments in the world of sexy swimwear is the bikini bottom called the c-string. This bottom is virtually nonexistent. Featuring a molded bottom that just barely covers your front and a thong back, it eliminates tan lines and the need for anything to hold it up. It is meant to replace g-string bikinis, as it is even tinier. Like the rest of the minimal coverage swimwear, it should be worn in adults-only company and in places where nudity or partial nudity is legal.

Wear and Care

Although an invisible bikini is officially a swimsuit, this kind of ladies swimwear is rarely meant for actual swimming. These bikinis will provide little support when you are trying to do laps or make your way into the ocean. Furthermore, chlorine and saltwater could harm the delicate fabrics used to make the swimsuit.

Care for your tiny bikini with a gentle touch. Too much scrubbing or too harsh of a detergent could damage the fabric. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations that come with the swimsuit, or follow this simple routine perfect for swimsuits and lingerie: Hand wash the bikini in the sink or bathtub using delicate care laundry soap. Lay flat on a towel to dry.

As previously mentioned, you are usually limited to wearing this kind of bikini at beaches with liberal nudity laws or in the privacy of your home’s whirlpool. Adding a swimsuit coverup will only provide a small amount of modesty. Sarongs, terry cover-ups or tee shirts/shorts are okay to toss on for a few moments; however, they are not a proper substitute for a modest bathing suit if that is the appropriate attire for the location/event.

Faux Invisibility

A skimpy bikini is sure to get you noticed, regardless of where it is worn. If you want to show some skin and create a buzz without overexposing yourself, consider getting a nude bikini.

Even celebrities like Kate Walsh and Lindsay Lohan can be seen donning flesh-toned bikinis that make friends, strangers and the paparazzi do a double take.
