Miss Bikini
From LoveToKnow Swimsuits
The Miss Bikini line of swimwear began as the 1980s were winding down. Two friends, Andrea Teofiatto and Alessandra Piacentini, decided to make their inspirational dream of making woman feel sexy and feminine a reality.
About Miss Bikini
An Italian line of swimwear, Miss Bikini seeks to blend the world of costumes with the world of the sea. In fact, both Andrea Teofiatto and Alessandra Piancentini were interested in designing sexy costumes that highlighted a woman’s femininity. Luckily, while on the beautiful island of Sardinia, they decided to blend this concept with swimwear. Thus, the Miss Bikini line was created.
The Collections
The latest collection of this line of swimwear made its debut in the spring and summer of the 2008 season. One of the stars of the show was Naomi Campbell who, in conjunction with the creators of line, helped design a collection of bikinis and cocktail dresses for the supermodel’s charitable foundation, the Fashion For Relief Association.
The collection itself features a dazzling array of ethnic-inspired prints and wispy fabric; all created with the curves and femininity of the female form in mind. Featured on the catwalks of Milan, the styles include:
- Design One: The first design features a riot of patterns in a sheer fabric that starts at the neck and ends at the ankles. While the top portion of this coverup is opened to reveal a shiny, bronze bikini, the rest of the look is surprisingly modest.
- Design Two: This bikini, with its Indian red color, halter top style and ethnic-inspired bikini bottom with high side-ties, is simply genius! A true winner for anyone who knows that color is key.
- Design Three: It’s with the third design that you begin to see the first of the cocktail dresses. This one is a mish-mash of varying shades of blue, purple and red. A fringe scarf, in a deep orange and brown, immediately catches and holds the viewer’s eye.
- Design Four: This bikini is a stunner! An ethnic print combines with wildly colored leopard spots of red, purple and grey to create an entirely different animal altogether!
- Design Five: A hybrid of jungle-meets-English-garden, this bikini really conveys the story of the wild side of life! Hooking around the shoulders, the fabric around the breast bone tapers down to meet the bottom of the swimsuit in a kind of Indian sari-meets-water look.
- Design Seven: This look is like watching liquid gold move! Fantastic in its luxe fabric and decadent in its ode to fashion glamour, this bikini will outshine them all!
- Design Eight: Just when you thought the looks couldn’t get anymore glamorous, you’re greeted by this amazing fashion concoction of fabric, beading and pattern; the three of which come together beautifully.
- Design Nine: Cocktail dress meets rocker chic in this edgy, almost psychedelic-printed dress. The look is not for everyone, but in the right hands, it could be charming.
- Design Ten: This flowery printed bikini evokes images of warm, sunny, Southern California because of its bright colors and high-cut leg.
Accessories and Kids
Along with their outstanding fashions, designers Andrea Teofiatto and Alessandra Piacentini also offer a wide range of timepieces to help compliment their looks. These watches are very large and feature the line’s logo: an upside down heart (that looks very much like the female bottom) wearing a bikini bottom.
Girls ages two to fourteen can experience haute couture for themselves with the kid’s collection. Don’t worry, all of the styles are age-appropriate, and “beyond” cute and colorful.
