Totally Transparent Swimwear

If you hear of someone looking to wear totally transparent swimwear for anything other than a risqué photo shoot, you may very well wonder why they bother. Why not just go skinny-dipping? Well, there may be a few reasons, not the least of which is that a sheer swimsuit is really sexy.

So really, if you’re in the market for totally transparent swimwear, what’s the point? Just going naked, and there are many nude beaches and other vacation spots where you can do that, is cheaper and requires less hand washing afterwards. Wearing a sheer swimsuit is not going to keep you in line with most public decency laws.

However, a transparent swimsuit will keep you more comfortable if you want to go nude but aren’t sure about the quality of the water, or you want a bit more protection than just sun block for your most sensitive skin. And at an adult-only party, it’s a way of being dressed and yet not, and this makes for an exciting tease.

Totally transparent swimwear is definitely not for the shy. Male or female, you have to be very comfortable in your skin to be effectively naked in public. This is dressing to be looked at, even scrutinized, and you have to not just embrace it, but actively want it.

For women especially, you have to not mind going without a lot of support. Most see-through swimwear is not designed to shape you because that’s not the point. That’s not to say that you can’t get a bikini or one-piece that offers some support, but if you need a lot of it, this may not be the look for you.

That's not to say that you have to have what most of the media might consider a "perfect" body. Generally speaking, those who feel comfortable enough to show off everything are slim and toned, but it doesn’t have to be the case at all.

If you’ve ever visited a nude beach, especially in Europe or the Mediterranean, you’ll know that all sorts of bodies congregate there completely without shyness or shame. These individuals are not concerned about jokes or cautionary tales; they are proud and having a great time rather than covering up and eating nothing but carrot sticks in the hopes of becoming "acceptable".

Your body is yours, and you should enjoy it whatever it looks like because the idea of perfection is just that - an idea. If you feel good naked, and you're proud and comfortable in your skin and don’t care who knows it, you already know you’re sexy. Nothing is sexier than confidence after all. So there is no reason not to indulge in some see-through swimwear and hit a sexy party in style.

When the look is to be effectively rather than actually naked, it’s fun to add some accessories and thus further tease the effect. For both men and women, a few choice accessories make for a stronger look. Under these circumstances, you can go with a bit more than is usual.

A great hat or headband, necklace, belly chain, armbands and jangly anklets can all make for more fun. Women should also consider a mesh or crochet sarong so that you are still sheer, but have a dash more interest. It’s also something to take off if you do decide to actually hit the pool or ocean.

As you would at a nude beach, you have to be sure to layer on the sun block, even on areas that will be covered because in this case they are not getting any protection. This sensitive skin is the last place you want to risk a sunburn.
